Labrador retrievers are impressive dogs both for their handsome appearance and intelligence. Well known for their skills in assisting hunters in “retrieving” their game, labs are expert swimmers. The painting shown here depicts one of these animals with his coat still wet from a splash in the water. The paint strokes were arranged in a way that would give the effect of moistened fur.
