Twilight Flight – Digital Painting

Wyverns swoop over a rushing stream as their bat-like wings carry them into a mountainous forest. I enjoyed creating the untamed environment in this scene. I felt it was important to suggest criss-crossing lines of motion with the water flowing diagonally toward the left, and the lead dragon banking to the right. The bluish hues which pervade the image add a sense of coolness as evening falls. The low-hanging harvest moon also sets the mood while serving as a compositional element, adding a point of interest to the pristine sky.
