I like to keep many of my figurative paintings independent of specific place and time, leaving such circumstances to the opinion of the viewer.  As an exception, the magazine I chose to include in this painting indicates a contemporary setting.  The girl in the painting appears far more engaged in her own thoughts than in the printed material.
