Summer Wind – Oil on Panel – 10”x 8” SOLD

The character in this painting has been described as more of an ethereal fairy than an actual human girl.  Such was my own inclination in painting the piece, wanting to emphasize an other-worldly or supernatural magic present in both the character herself and in the gentle wind blowing past.  I was inspired by the great academic painter William-Adolphe Bougereau in rendering the atmospheric effects of light and air on the human form.
