Summer Art Show Wrap Up

Thanks to all who came out to see “Expressions in Realism”, the exhibition at VanOver Fine Arts this summer.  Big thanks especially to the gallery itself which consistently puts on such beautifully displayed exhibitions and handled this show so well.  The opening reception back in July was great fun for all and, as always, a good chance to meet new people and mingle with art fans and fellow artists alike.  Since then, the show has been open through the summer months and wrapped up this past weekend.

When it comes to fine art, individual taste varies as widely as people’s personalities.  It’s great chatting with visitors at an art show and learning how one identifies strongly with a particular piece, while a completely unrelated work resonates with another.  I hope that having a cross section of artwork, including figurative, landscape, wildlife, and a variety of sculptural works, was one of the successful aspects of the show.  Though its content spanned a variety of subject matter, the exhibit was curated in such a way that it created a cohesive art space that held together nicely as a whole.

More interesting artistic escapades are afoot with additional updates yet to come.  I’ve been working on some unique pieces over the course of the summer and trying out new art materials in the process.  It’s been exciting and, if all goes well, the results of these adventures will be on display in the near future.  I’m looking forward to the fall season and will have more news coming soon. Thanks again everyone for your attendance at the show!
