Abish is a historical figure from the the Book of Mormon.  In an effort to share her long-hidden faith with a throng of people from her city, she led them to witness the remarkable scene of their King’s religious conversion.  Instead of being deeply moved by what they saw, the people wound up arguing and contesting over the meaning of what they had witnessed.  In her frustration, Abish wept in disappointment.  Ultimately though, her efforts were successful.
