After creating the painting The Ride, I was inspired to do more bull rider paintings, beginning with this one.  Like a small jewel, the diminutive size of the piece contrasts with the excitement and dynamism of the event depicted.  Like a work of futurist art, the action of the bull’s hind legs is shown as a blur of motion as may be captured by a camera, or by the human eye.
