Queen of the Giants –  Digital Painting

Visually speaking, a sense of high perspective is the dominant principle I was trying to get across in this scene. The limited color palette helps keep the main focus on three-dimensional form receding in space. It’s almost like the giant herself is another architectural pillar in her own palace. It seems that, in art and literature, giants are often male characters. So it was fun exploring the notion of a giant queen. Fortunately, she’s a wise and benevolent monarch giving firm yet trusting instructions to one of her visitors.
