Painting Chrome – Artist’s Bane or Blessing!

Here are a couple examples of artwork I created for clients where I took the opportunity of indulging in the joy of chrome!  By “chrome”, I suppose I mean any shiny, polished metal surface.

We’ve probably all seen posters or other artwork depicting classic cars where the metal is so polished that it reflects practically everything around it.  These paintings can be really cool!

Sometimes on the other hand, chrome can be very badly painted.  Badly-painted metal surfaces may be the culprit in the opinions of some who consider airbrush painting to be “cheesy”.  I personally choose to admire excellent examples of commercial art where polished chrome surfaces create impressions of hyper-realism and evoke memories of fun and excitement!
