Usually, my painting medium of choice is oils.  When impressed by the “need for speed” or by a desire to draw out the unique properties of acrylic paint, I’ll resort to the latter, as in this figurative work.  The portrait of this Asian woman allows the color of the surface beneath the paint to pass through, lending an airy, transparent feel to the entire scene.
