I created this plein air painting in a parking lot at the entrance to a winding canyon of the Wasatch Front in Utah.  I tend to leave man made objects out of my nature scenes, being somewhat of an idealist in this regard.  After all, facing the idyllic scene pictured above, we’re actually looking towards countless miles of wild mountain landscape just beyond the foothills.
