A Native American young man had just returned from serving a religious mission for his church when he came to the studio to pose for a drawing session.  With all of life ahead of him, he felt to bring his native clothing, jewelry and even an authentic Native American instrument.  As I drew this flute player, I thought of the cultural statement he was making, and of all the other flute players in fantasy and legend representing cultures both real and imagined.
