Fine Arts Opening Reception

As mentioned earlier this month, it’s been a great season for art exhibits, and one of those exhibits is currently on view at VanOver Fine Arts in Springville, NY.  This is one of the most tastefully curated art shows I’ve seen recently.  The organization of the paintings on the walls is a work of design in itself which leads the visitor through in an engaging flow from the first artwork to the last.  I’m honored to have six paintings included in the show, and here are some photos taken during the opening reception, earlier this month.

What’s impressive about this display is the way Richard VanOver, gallery owner and curator (himself an artist as well), took a disparate range of artistic styles, techniques and media and made them all work together as a collective group in the gallery.  It takes an artistic eye and vision to accomplish that, and this show displays a successful effort on his part.  The exhibit features contemporary photography, surrealist paintings, traditional landscapes, a number of wildlife paintings and some sculptural works.

The exhibition is ending soon, so this weekend makes a great last chance to check out the show before the holidays.  Here’s wishing everyone a very merry Christmas, happy holidays and successful upcoming new year!
