East Aurora Art Festival Success
This past weekend provided lots of fun at the East Aurora Summer Art Festival. Perhaps the most gratifiying part was the fact that, after several days and an early morning of heavy rain, our prayers were answered and we had a rain-free show, all but a little harmless misting. Some more sun would have been nice, but hey, I’m just happy we were spared the rain! There were well over 100 fine artists including painters and photographers represented at the exhibition.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download

Me with my art on the fence.
Usually at an outdoor art show like this, I would set up my art in a tent like many of the other artists at this festival (see background in above picture). There was a veritable township of white tents to wander through at this venue. However, due to my personal schedule, I opted for the snow fence here. This show has included isles of snow fences for displaying art for over 57 years, so it’s kind of like tradition now.

My Paintings at the Show
We had a good crowd turn out in spite of the overcast conditions. It was great to see some familiar faces there and meet the patrons and the other artists. The show was also a competition, so each artist got to select one of his/her artworks to submit for judging. The painting Rose Dress won third prize in the “Oil Painting” category and I’m grateful the judge chose to recognize it. It was a little amusing too, since the same painting just won third place in the exhibit at the Burchfield Art & Nature Center this past April.
