As a study for the oil painting, River’s Edge, the drawing of this young woman in Renaissance attire became interesting in its own right and now stands on its own as a separate work.  Producing the drawing provided opportunity to choose points of emphasis such as the elaborate folds and patterns of her garment and the gentle tilt of her head.
