Christmas is Coming! (sorry, but it’s true)
My goodness, my favorite season of the year is already beginning to wrap up. I’m sure many would agree that summer is the season we look forward to the most. Don’t get me wrong though, spring, autumn, and even winter all have their charms. And speaking of winter, just around the corner, the holidays will be here. That means, you guessed it… “bum, bum, bum” (think danger music) …Christmas shopping!
Fortunately, since you’re reading this and therefore probably have some interest in art, you have in your arsenal of gift ideas a particularly special option to consider – the gift of an original painting! …or drawing for that matter. May I suggest, among the many subjects you may wish to give as an artistic gift this year, a special pet portrait. Chances are, if your loved one is a pet owner, their dog, cat, horse, fish, lizard, or tarantula is the apple of their eye. Receiving a hand-made portrait of a favorite pet is not only unexpected, but can often move the recipient to tears of love and appreciation.
Due to the time it takes to create an original artwork, the backup that can happen around the holidays, and the drying time that may be involved with original paintings, I strongly recommend getting started early to make sure your artwork is ready in time for the big day.
