Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder – Acrylic and Digital

Medical Illustration commissions have allowed me to incorporate a variety of media such as acrylics, watercolor, and Photoshop to realize the organic forms unique to this genre. All of these versatile media can be extremely effective for emphasizing the key biological information required, while simultaneously preserving artistic sensibilities. To illustrate the effects of C.O.P.D., and render the associated anatomy in a manner that’s unique and engaging, I approached this piece as a kind of cosmic landscape, using bold colors and a feeling of high perspective.
