This semi-abstract oil study of a wildflower in the mountains was created as part of a landscape series painted on site in Little Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City.  A spontaneous depiction of the roseate blossom growing at the edge of a small stream, the painting is as much a record of an emotional impression as it is of a direct visual observation.
