Working in three dimensional media is a great way to bring the illusion of reality to imaginative subject matter. This has been going on for centuries as artists have sought to make the unreal into a spectacle of reality through sculpture. Mythology and legend come to life in dramatic detail through this tradition. Such was part of the excitement in creating this fun and fanciful fox and fairy. I love working on character expressions and poses, as well as showing the interaction between players in a scene.

This fairy is taking a rest from flying around and decided to perch atop a willing fox for a ride through the woods. Are they on a mission of some kind, perhaps a hunt for something? Are they trying to avoid an unseen danger? Or are they simply enjoying an afternoon in their natural habitat? I enjoy leaving the dramatic ambiguity of such details to the viewer to fill in for him or herself. The creative process is often best resolved when completed in the mind of the audience.
