The Return of the “Little Man” – Musings on Character Art

This detective character, which I created for a personal/financial development series appears here discovering a parcel of lucrative real estate!  The “Little Man” first appeared on the cover of The Little Book of Answers to Life’s Financial Questions by Charles J. Machinski.  Soon he found himself drawn (literally) to the real estate market, where he made this appearance.

"Custom Illustration Drawing"The fun of drawings like this is that they can take on a life of their own.  They do exist as stand-alone pieces of art while also lending themselves to countless adventures in which they may find themselves involved!

A similar drawing requiring a high degree of characterization is the Gypsy Cowbelle logo which I created for the musician “V” The Gypsy Cowbelle.  I like how the eyes are covered up on both the rider and the horse, the teeth of both becoming the defining facial feature.

It’s also the posture and gestures of this delightful pair which define the character of the logo which, in turn, reflects the style of the entertainer herself.
