Prostatic Adenoma –  Digital Illustration

Simple schematics, including cross sectional diagrams like this, can be the quickest and easiest way to get ideas across clearly. A hint of three dimensionality here and there helps establish a more well rounded concept of the anatomy. Aside from some modest aesthetic enhancements, a simple medical diagram is meant to function like a map – a direct route to comprehension. Some labels and symbols, such as arrows, can also be added to help complete the story. In this illustration, one can see in Figures 2 and 3 the way an enlarged prostate gland hampers the male urinary bladder from doing its job efficiently.
