Stepping aside from the pun of the title, this scene contains an interesting juxtaposition of stark natural beauty and aggressive sci-fi conflict. There’s a touch of humor in the implausibility of the city-creatures’ anatomy, which serves as a contrasting thematic backdrop for the pathos of the storyline. Can the competing metropolises ever just get along? Can the magical protective circle be closed just in time to prevent disaster?
