Dreaming –  Digital Painting

The story of this artwork is about a young woman’s dream. But as she drifts off, we might ask whether her tiny visitor is a part of the dream, or a final perception of reality before she enters the realms of sleep.

In some line-art pieces like this one, I’ve chosen to combine thin pen strokes with areas where the lines expand into shaded tonal areas, resulting in a varied approach to outlining the illustration. The results remind me, to some degree, of the look and feel of stained glass art. Stained glass is like a seamless amalgamation of painting and graphic art. It’s an aesthetic which can be explored in many other media as well.
