Thank You to Attendees!
Hi All! I’m taking a moment during this COVID-19 period we’re in to catch up on some retro-posts I should have published much earlier. So I apologize for the delay in getting these next few articles up for viewing.
That said, I’d like to hearken back to a great time we had during the May 2020 “Drawing and Painting from Imagination” workshop. Thank you to all who attended that fun and enlightening event. We had a wonderful turnout of folks who participated, and an exciting turnout of imaginative artwork from those people.
I enjoyed seeing how the instruction provided led to each artist’s taking the concepts and running with them, employing preferred styles, interpretations, and choices of subject matter. The format was a structured, step-by-step process, but the results among the artists were anything but uniform or predictable.
At the end of this full-day workshop, we had a display and critique period where all had the opportunity to admire one another’s artwork and make comments. While the scenes created were all from imagination, the approaches ranged from realistic, believable nature scenes to idyllic visions to fanciful creature creation.
Thank you to all for attending and making this such a worthwhile and educational day!
