Gesture – Graphite on Paper – 12”x 9”
This is one of those extremely rapid figure drawings made before going on to more involved works.  Some people call them “warm ups”.  This particular one stood out to me as a viable finished work.  “Gesture drawing” is another common term applied to this type of figure drawing wherein the overall direction of the body’s movement is drawn quickly and emphatically with less concern for smaller anatomical details.
