Contrapposto – Clay Original – 16” x 9” x 5”*

This figure sculpture was made from a studio model posing for a large group of sculptors and painters as we worked together.  She actually held a pole in her left hand, making it possible to keep her arm extended.  I chose to omit the pole and turn her hand upwards instead.  I’ve considered a number of personalities the piece might depict, such as Eve or a character from   the Greek myth of the Judgment of Paris.
