A bull riding scene can be one of intense power and excitement.  This western oil painting portrays a mighty struggle for victory as the bull twists and bucks against the cowboy.  It was an exciting opportunity to combine the great sculptural mass of the animal with the blur of frantic activity.  It remains to the imagination of the viewer who is the champion in the end, man or beast!
