The bobcat is a type of North American lynx which is an opportunistic hunter, feeding on whatever is available from insects to deer. With superb vision and hearing, they are adept at hunting nocturnally as well as by day. This bobcat silently explores its environs, keenly aware of every sound and movement. To me, there was magic in creating this painting where we’re afforded a glimpse of the elusive predator at that very moment when it’s least likely to be seen.

This painting is a winner in North Light Books’ 2014 “Best of Acrylic” international competition and is featured in the book, Acrylic Works 2: Radical Breakthroughs, published by F+W Media.
