Natural Disasters Illustration –  Oil on Panel

One of the cover illustrations I was commissioned to create for the journal Psychiatric Annals focused on the theme of human psychological response to natural disasters. The interpretation was left up to me and I welcomed the opportunity of incorporating surreal imagery into a painting which would point directly to the theme of the magazine. I chose to work within a very limited color range in order to focus on pure form and dramatic lighting to convey the message.
