Preoccupied by the enchantment of her solitude in a magical forest, the maiden seems aloof from, or perhaps unaware of, the dangers which might lurk amidst the shadows of the trees. Many of my fanciful paintings are like this – glimpses into a thread of events, romantic, and sometimes foreboding. It’s up to the viewer to weave in details to complete the picture of an unfinished tale.
