This wildlife painting is a tribute to the majestic and unusual Siberian or Eurasian lynx. The animal’s large paws and markedly long and powerful legs are perfectly suited to life in the harsh conditions of its wintery habitat. With elegantly mottled coloration, this lynx was worthy of my focused attention as an artistic subject, set against the dark background of its grotto. Paint is applied liberally across the surface of the artwork, creating textures which are best viewed in person to get the full effect.
