Revamping Religious Sculpture
Here’s a piece of sculptural art which has received some positive attention from other sculptors for it’s bold composition and powerful form. Liahona is a portrait of The Book of Mormon prophet Lehi, holding his compass of divine design called the Liahona. This ball or compass lead his and his family’s way as they journeyed from the perilous city of Jerusalem to the promised land of the Americas around 600 B.C.

I was very pleased with how this resin copy of the sculpture came out. But, to paraphrase the famous sculptor Rodin, an artist needs to be prepared to make sacrifices. In this case the sculpture mold needed to be reworked, so, of necessity, I sacrificed this piece to have the new mold created. Now that the mold is done, I look forward to producing a new cast of the sculpture and seeing how it compares to the original.
I love the original, very interested to see the new one.
Thanks! The new mold is finished. Still have yet to make a new casting.
